House of Nnyane offers professional firebreak services to aid property owners in meeting their responsibilities to prepare and maintain firebreaks as per section 12(1) of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act.
According to this act, all landowners are required to prepare firebreaks on their side of the boundary, when there is a reasonable risk of veldfire. A reasonable risk is when it can be foreseen that by not preparing a firebreak, a veldfire could start or spread across the landowner’s land, causing harm to someone else.
Making use of House of Nnyane’s professional firebreak services, will ensure that the firebreaks are not only prepared safely, but also in accordance with the regulations of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act and the Fire Protection Association of South Africa, as well as the National Environmental Management Act.
